Israel kills Lebanese civilian in south Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday killed a Lebanese civilian whose car was destroyed by a rocket. The car was crossing al-Butoum mount-Zebqin road in the western sector of south Lebanon.

Lebanese security sources said the occupation forces destroyed the car by a rocket. The car and its driver were completely burnt.

Moreover, the Israeli forces' artillery also bombarded the area to prevent civilians from providing help to the victims. The Israeli bombardment also resulted in material damage to the fields and farms surrounding Yater, al-Butoum and Zebqin towns.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces targeted with heavy artillery al-Tuffah district heights on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Lebanese security sources, the Israeli bombardment targeted Sujoud and al-Rayhan woods, Aqmata farm, al-Tasse spring flow, areas of Lweizeh and Mleita towns, al-Rafee mount and the Litani river areas.

Further reports said that several towns in south Lebanon were exposed to Israeli artillery bombardment on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, while Israeli jets carried out mock raids over the western sector of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the bombardment covered the towns of Zibqin, Majdal Zoun, al-Mansouri, al-Nafkha valley and Jil Sweid.

Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun towns areas were mopped up by heavy artillery and machine-guns. In retaliation, Lebanese resistance forces on Wednesday attacked an Israeli military position in Balat in the Western sector of occupied south Lebanon.

In a statement following the attack, the resistance said Lebanese fighters hit the position directly. Earlier, Lebanese resistance forces attacked two bulldozers on Tuesday night while carrying out fortification works and road expansion at the Israeli occupation position in Sujoud and al-Rayhan. Lebanese resistance sources said the drivers of the two bulldozers were directly hit by a resistance group which approached them. Another group clashed with members of the occupation position, who tried to interfere and prevented them from achieving their objectives.

One resistance group also attacked another Israeli position in Beer Klab. The position's main fortifications were destroyed.
