Jordanian foreign minister to visit Iran on Saturday
Jordan-Iran, Politics, 8/5/1998

Jordan stated that its foreign minister and deputy prime minister, Jawad al-Anani, will travel to Iran on Saturday to work on developing the relations between the two countries, which returned rapidly to normal, said Jordanian sources.

The sources said that Anani will convey a message from the Jordanian monarch, King Hussein, to Iranian President Mohammed Khatami in support of relations between the two countries.

Anani is traveling to Tehran for two days at the head of a large Jordanian delegation to government. He will hold talks with Iranian officials tackling bilateral relations in several fields.

The visit comes a few weeks after a visit paid by an important Jordanian delegation that included the ministers of endowments and transportation to the Iranian capital during June, which paved the way for establishing close relations in the fields of air and land transportation and religious tourism.
