Attackers of Odai Saddam Hussein arrested

Baghdad announced yesterday that persons who tried to assassinate Odai Saddam Hussein, the eldest son of the Iraqi president, in December 1996 were arrested.
In a statement by the general security directorate giving information about the failed assassination attempt against life of Odai, Iraq announced that two of the five who fired at the president's son were arrested while three others escaped to a neighboring country.
Odai, 34, was attacked with gunfire when his car was ambushed in Baghdad. He recovered and was able to walk following months of treatment and several surgical operations. When the attack took place, Odai accused Iran of being behind the attack. But Iran had denied any involvement in the attack.
