Kuwaiti information minister in Damascus

Syrian Information Minister Muhammad Salman on Monday held talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Youssef Sumait. The talks dealt with bilateral information relations and other issues of mutual concern.
Sumait arrived on Sunday in Damascus for a three-day official visit. In an arrival statement to reporters he said his visit aims at discussing with his Syrian counterpart "joint action and deepening the prospects of information cooperation between the two countries."
Replying to a question on the Damascus declaration signatory states' role, the Kuwaiti minister said this role includes important media, political, economic and scientific dimensions. Concerning the Middle East peace process, the Kuwaiti minister underlined Syria's principled attitude towards the Arab nation.
He added that, "Syria's national stances are expressed in the Syrian information so as to reflect this national policy of the Syrian attitude." Sumait stressed his country's support for Arab solidarity and joint Arab action in the interest of the Arab nation.
