Egypt will not sign partnership agreement with Europe
Egypt-European Union, Economics, 8/3/1998
Ahmed Goweili the Egyptian minister of trade and supply, stated while examining the exhibition of Egyptian products being held on the margin of a tourism and shopping festival that Egypt will not sign the partnership agreement with Europe until it reaches a balance in joint economical interests with all parties."
Goweili asked how Egypt could sign the partnership agreement with Europe before reaching a balance point in the joint economic interest among all parties or at a time when obstacles are being placed before Egyptian export markets (Europe's) without any justifications.
Goweili added that Egyptian imports from the European Union amount to 3.2 billion pounds.
