Two killed in Algiers coach explosion
Algeria, Politics, 7/31/1998
Two persons were killed and another 23 reported wounded in a coach explosion in Algiers on Thursday night. Some 12 of the wounded are in critical condition.
Algerian minister of the Interior Mustafa Bin Mansour visited the wounded and inspected the site of the explosion to get acquainted with the results of investigations.
The explosion took place in the Buraqi area of southern Algiers, where the Algerian working class lives. A statement released by Algerian security forces did not refer to the criminals who committed this crime. Such attacks are usually attributed to extremist groups.
This is the fifth attack to take place in Algeria since a UN team arrived in the country eight days ago to collect information about acts of violence in Algeria.
