46 persons killed in Algeria within four days

Algerian private dailies said on Wednesday that some 19 persons were killed on Tuesday in Algeria, including 13 in an attack against a military position and a house in Bleida province, 50 km south of the capital, Algiers.

In the aftermath of the attack, a confrontation erupted between Algerian security forces and the attackers. It resulted in the deaths of six civilians from one family, four soldiers and three members of the self-defense teams.

In Algiers security forces killed two gunmen from the Armed Islamic Group, said the Algerian Liberte daily.

Al-Khabr daily reported that four extremist Islamists were killed in al-Jafla province, 300 km south of the capital. Thereby, acts of violence in Algeria during the last four days resulted in the deaths of 46 persons, the majority of them civilians.
