New peace negotiations between Sudanese government, rebels

A new round of peace negotiations was officially announced on Tuesday between the Sudanese government and rebels in the southern part of the country on August 4 - 6 in Addis Ababa.
Consultant for the Sudanese president on peace, Adams al-Taher Hamdoun, was quoted as saying in a press conference that this round of negotiations will concentrate on matters pertaining to self-determination for southern Sudan. He indicated that the composition of the governmental delegation which took part in the previous round talks held last May in Nairobi will not be changed during the Addis Ababa talks.
