Syrian political sources said the agreement signed by the Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismail who is currently visiting Syria and Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammed al-Amadi calls for forming a Sudanese - Syrian joint ministerial committee to contribute to developing relations between them.
Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Monday received a message from Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir delivered by the Sudanese foreign minister upon meeting with al-Assad at Damascus' al-Chaab Presidential Palace.
Talks between the two dealt with conditions in the region, the horn of Africa and bilateral relations. Earlier in the day Syrian Agriculture Minister Asaad Mustafa talked with the Sudanese minister about means of boosting and strengthening bilateral agricultural relations.
The Sudanese foreign minister said his country opposes any normalization process with Israel, emphasizing that any normalization must be linked to restoring Arab rights and accepting the land for peace principle, adding that it is obvious to everyone that Israel does not want peace, especially Prime Minister Netanyahu's government.
