Klima calls for pressure on Israel

Austrian Chancellor Viktor Klima, whose country currently presides over the European Union presidency, on Monday called on Israel to accept the US initiative providing for redeployment in the West Bank territories, which had been approved by the Palestinians earlier.
AFP quoted Klima as saying, "We hope the international community will be able to convince the Israeli side to accept the US initiative." Klima expressed regret that the Middle East peace process is already dead. He added: "If we want the Middle East peace process to attain success, we are in need of making pressure by the EU and the US to bring Israel back to negotiation table."
