Eritrean president arriving today in Cairo

Eritrean President Assias Afworki is arriving in Egypt today, coming from Libya.

During his visit, Afworki will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss the recent developments and the mediation to end the war between Eritrea and Ethiopia.

Afworki will review his country's position toward the African initiative aimed at ending the dispute and the efforts for mediation under the chairmanship of the president of Burkina Faso, the head of the current African summit.

Eritrean sources told ArabicNews.com that the Eritrean president will discuss the results of his discussion with the high Libyan officials and the communications he made with international and regional parties in order to end the conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
