Kharazi: New understanding between Tehran and the UAE

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi stressed that relations between Iran and the United Arab Emirates have been characterized by a "new understanding" over the question of the three Gulf islands under dispute.
He continued: "Our relations with the Arab states in the Gulf region are developing, and its is not possible to leave the UAE aside."
He noted that problems between "Iran and the UAE should be settled in the context of bilateral negotiations. I think a new understanding is taking its course to this end. Our dialogue should proceed."
Kharazi asserted "Iran's unswerving will" to improve its relations with the Gulf states within the context of building confidence and restoring calm.
