Barazani and Talabani to visit Washington

The Kurdistan Democratic Party headed by Masoud Barzani and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by Jalal Talabani confirmed that US State Department official David Welch invited Barzani and Talabani to visit Washington.
An official source in the PUK told ArabicNews.com that Jalal Talabani will visit Tehran within days at the invitation of Iran, adding that Talabani has also received a call from Syria.
The sources added that Welch informed the Kurdish groups of the continuing international protection for "Iraqi Kurdistan," adding that Welch discussed with Barzani and the members of political bureau of the KDP the enhancement of the peace process and developing and supporting Kurdish reconciliation within the context of the main topics, including the formation of a joint coalition government between the two sides.
