Iran: Relations with Syria are historical

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has stressed that Syrian-Iranian relations are friendly and historical.

In a press conference he held in Tehran on Wednesday, the Iranian Foreign Minister added that the process of cooperation and friendship relations between Syria and Iran is proceeding toward further progress and growth in all domains.

Kharazi underlined the importance of fostering relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. "Relations between the two countries have witnessed tangible development and bilateral cooperation in various political and economic fields," he said.

He stressed that visits exchanged between the two countries' officials had helped improve links between the two countries.

Concerning Iranian-Egyptian relations, Kharazi added that relations between Tehran and Cairo have witnessed increasing development in recent times. He added that recent developments in the region, in light of the Israeli expansionist policy, require more cooperation between Tehran and Cairo.
