Iran, Iraq hold successful talks on prisoners

Chairman of the Iranian war prisoners committee, Lt. Gen. Abdullah al-Najafi, described the results of the talks recently held between the Iranian and Iraqi sides concerning the question of prisoners as positive.
In a press conference he held in Tehran on Tuesday, Najafi said a new round of talks between the two sides will be held next month on the Iranian - Iraqi borders to follow up on discussions of the prisoners issue.
He added that the talks will deal with means of exchanging prisoners in the future. He said that Iran has released since 1995 until now some 1,500 Iraqi prisoners.
