US - Egyptian committees to convene soon

Cairo said it considers the strategic dialogue committee with Washington a hot line that links the two capitals to exchange points of view concerning issues of dispute to prevent their development.

Egyptian diplomatic sources told ArabicNews.com that a US - Egyptian meeting between high-ranking officials will be held soon in Cairo to create a mechanism for the discussions and said that sub-committees will begin meeting soon.

He said that this mechanism includes establishing sub-committees, each concerned with regional and international issues, among which are expanding the membership of NATO, liberating international trade, the peace process in the Middle East, disarming weapons of mass destruction, international sanctions and stability in the Gulf, Red Sea and Mediterranean regions.
