Fire in Sudanese weapons warehouse causes shells to explode

The spokesman of the Sudanese Army, Abdul Rahman Ser El-Khatem said that a fire broke out in a warehouse for storing ammunition in south Khartoum, which led to munitions exploding causing material damage.
He said that the fire in the warehouse, one of a group of warehouses in the military area, caused shells to explode and fall on the surrounding area, yet he said that there were no injuries.
The authorities issued a statement in which it said that the accident was due to technical reasons.
No one has declared responsibility for the explosion.
