Netanyahu confers with Jordanian FM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday held a meeting in Jerusalem with Jordanian Foreign Minister Jawad al-Anani.
In statements to Israeli radio prior to the meeting Netanyahu praised the role played by Jordan in bringing viewpoints closer between Israeli officials and the Palestinian government.
For his part Anani denied that his talks are only mediation between Israel and the Palestinian government. On Saturday al-Anani met in Gaza with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, following a series of contacts last week between Netanyahu and Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan.
