Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the French National Assembly (parliament), Jack Lang, arrived in Rabat on Friday for talks with Moroccan officials on ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Lang will convey Moroccan Prime Minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, a message from his French peer, Lionel Jospin.

Lang told Moroccan news agency that his visit to Morocco aims at intensifying relations between France and Morocco.

"Today we, in France, desire to have more active, friendly and closer relations with the Moroccan authorities," he added.
