Emirates to help reconcile differences between Doha and Manama

Qatar confirmed its adherence to the United Arab Emirates' efforts to overcome the obstacles in the way of improving the relations between Doha and Manama.

Diplomatic sources told ArabicNews.com that the UAE will resume its endeavors to improve the relations between Bahrain and Qatar, after Doha objected to Bahrain's plans to establish a bridge a linking it to the disputed Hawar Islands, about which the International Court of Justice is examining the two states disputes regarding sovereignty. Bahrain has said that its procedures are within the context of sovereignty and international law.

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jabir al-Thani concluded his second visit to Abu Dhabi today, returning to Doha after he delivered a message from Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa to UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan tackling regional issues and cooperation between the two countries.

Meanwhile diplomatic sources said that Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs, is expected to visit Bahrain soon, where he will deliver a message from Sheikh Zayed to Bahraini Emir Sheikh Issa Bin Salman al-Khalifa.

The sources stated that the date it of Sheikh Hamdan's visits between Doha and Manama was not yet announced.
