Mubarak warns against demographic changes in Jerusalem
Egypt, Politics, 7/15/1998

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has stressed the need for honoring UN Security Council resolutions relating to occupied Jerusalem and the occupied Arab territories.

Mubarak warned against demographic changes in the occupied Arab lands and Israel's defiance of UN resolutions. The Egyptian President welcomed the UN Security Council statement issued on Tuesday condemning Israel. President Mubarak called upon Israel to comprehend its negative stand towards the peace process and its adverse impact against Israel itself and the region as a whole.

In statements he made on Tuesday on the occasion of graduating a new batch of Egyptian naval officers in Alexandria, the Egyptian president held Israel responsible for the bottleneck the peace process is experiencing.

He called on the international community for unity and fair standards as the alternatives to justice in the Middle East region are violence and terrorism rather than war. The stage for violence and terrorism will be the whole world, he said.
