Abdul Meguid meets with UN Algeria delegation member

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid discussed with former Jordanian Prime Minister Karim Kabariti, who is now a member of the committee authorized by the U.N., Arab League and Organization of African Unity to get acquainted with the situation in Algeria and present a report to the three organizations over its mission.
After his meeting with the international convoy, Abdul Meguid said he talked to Kabariti over the mission in which the former Jordanian official participates in Algeria. Abdul Meguid said that Kabariti will travel next week to Algeria according to an authorization from the AL, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and OAU leader Salem Ahmed Salem.
He stated that there are communications underway between the Arab League and Annan concerning the situation in Algeria and the committee that will visit Algeria. Abdul Meguid expressed his hope that Kabariti's mission will succeed, assuring the Arab League's adherence to supporting Algerian President Liamine Zeroual's efforts to guarantee stability in his state.
