Yemen-Saudi solution to border problem, Iryani returns to Sanaa
Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 7/13/1998

Saudi sources told ArabicNews.com that Yemen is about to launch an agreement specifying the borders between Yemen and Oman, saying that Yemen agreed to implement this agreement depending on specifying the borders between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani returned to Sanaa after visiting the British capital (London) in which be attended the final oral pleadings on the Eritrean - Yemeni dispute concerning sovereignty over the Hanish islands, under examination by an international arbitration committee.

Iryani refused to deliver a statement to reporters upon his arrival at Sanaa airport.

An official source denied that Yemen has accepted a mediated solution of the Hanish dispute, saying that Yemen and Eritrea have previously announced their agreement to abide by the outcome of the arbitration.
