Yemen for good relations with Iran

Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmar has asserted that his visit to Iran marked the beginning of a new phase of fraternal relations between the two countries.

In a statement to reporters at the conclusion of his six-day visit to Iran, al-Ahmar said the main issues he discussed with Iranian officials were economic cooperation between Tehran and Sanaa and accelerating the process of implementing agreements signed between the two countries.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries calling for the establishment of Parliamentary friendship groups.

Sheikh al-Ahmar arrived in Tehran on Saturday leading a Yemeni parliamentary delegation on an official visit at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri.
