Draft agreement for cooperation between Egypt and US
Egypt-USA, Economics, 7/10/1998

Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili discussed yesterday with US ambassador in Cairo Daniel Kurtzer the draft agreement for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment, which will be raised before the coming meeting of the American - Egyptian presidential council, headed by Egyptian President Mubark and US Vice President Al Gore.

Goweili said that the agreement provides the necessary atmosphere for relations between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment, pointing out that it forms a great step toward a free trade accord between the two countries.

The Egyptian minister said that an Egyptian delegation will head to Washington in the second half of the month to meet with officials in the bureau of trade representation and the US Department of Commerce to discuss increasing the Egyptian share of textile exports to the US.
