Egypt expresses optimism toward winter tourism prospects
Egypt, Business, 7/10/1998

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism said he is optimistic toward the possibility of increasing tourist traffic from Europe during the coming winter.

Mamdouh El-Beltagi, the Egyptian minister of tourism, referred to an increase in reservations and an increase of sales of programs to visit Egypt through international tourism agencies.

He also said that France is the most important European country for Egyptian tourism, expressing a great response to Egyptian advertising campaigns taking place during the last months.

Beltagi added that Egyptian tourism fairs and the reinauguration of the Egyptian sector at the Louvers museum in Pairs have participated in forming a positive and strong opinion about Egypt in France compared with other European countries.

El-Beltagi referred to the continuation of tourism promotion campaigns in European markets, in order restore tourism traffic to Egypt to its previous level before the Luxor attack in November 1997.
