Organization of African Unity continues efforts to settle Eritrea - Ethiopia dispute

Mohammed Haji, the assistant secretary general of the Organization of African Unity, confirmed yesterday the continuation of the OAU's efforts to settle the dispute between Eritrea and Ethiopia. He referred to the importance of the US - Rwandan initiative the OAU relied on.
Ambassador Haji confirmed the importance of the disputing parties' approval of deploying peacekeeping forces between Ethiopia and Eritrea before taking a decision by the OAU.
