Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands imperative, Moussa says
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 7/9/1998
Egypt's Foreign Minister Amr Moussa has renewed calls for abiding by the Madrid terms of reference in order to put the Middle East peace process into the right track.
The Egyptian minister underlined the need for an Israeli withdrawal from all the occupied Arab territories and the need for Israeli implementation of already-reached agreements on all peace tracks.
In a televised interview in Cairo, Moussa told Egyptian television prior to a scheduled trip to Washington today that peace should be built on the principles of parity and the materialization of justice, not to favor one side at the expense of the other. He added that the US administration knows this very well, especially after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's clash and disputes with President Weizman over the US initiative toward Middle East peace.
Moussa concluded by calling for striking a balance between the call for achieving peace and security in the region. He asserted that Israel's weapons of mass destruction and nuclear arms piling constitute a threat to the peace and security of the Middle East region and to the world at large.
