Israeli troops conduct mop-up operation in Tallat al-Ahmadiyah
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 7/8/1998
The Israeli occupation forces shelled Burkat al-Jabbour, Abu Rashed and al-Sarira districts in the Western Bekaa on Tuesday morning.
Lebanese security sources said the bombardment coincided with a large scale mopping-up operation by Israeli troops in Tallat al-Ahmadiyah. The mopping-up process covered the Litani river area, Luse district and Qelya mount.
Late Monday night, Lebanese resistance forces monitored the movements of Israeli troops on Sujoud al-Rayhan road and in al-Tuffah district. As the Israeli troops took up position at Muruj Aqmata crossroads, resistance forces attacked them. In a statement, the resistance said it was able to achieve direct hits on the enemy patrol.
