Chadian, Libyan airplanes penetrate air embargo
Libya-Chad, Politics, 7/7/1998
Chadian and Libyan airplanes that were transporting Chad's and Niger's presidents and their delegations penetrated the air embargo imposed on Libya as they flew from Chad into eastern Libya.
Chadian President Idris Debi stated that the African countries intend to take other procedures toward the complete lifting of the sanctions imposed on Libya.
He added that the presidents of the African countries who attended prayers led by Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi on the occasion of celebrating the birth of the prophet Mohammed have started in implementing the resolutions of the last African summit that call for the non-observance of the air embargo imposed on Libya starting from the beginning of September.
