Final arbitration over Hanish Islands

Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani arrived in London on Sunday to attend the meeting of the final arbitration session which will decide the destiny of Hanish island in the Red Sea, which has been under dispute between Yemen and Eritrea in December 1995.
Confrontations took place between the two countries over this issue in which 13 persons were killed. In another development, speaker of the Yemeni Parliament Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmar arrived in Tehran on Saturday for a six-day official visit to Iran, the first of its kind by a high-ranking Yemeni official since the launching of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979.
The visit was made at the invitation of al-Ahmar's Iranian counterpart, Hijatul Islam Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri.
