Iranian - Iraqi relations are good

Iraqi Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadan has stressed the need to improve the level of relations between Iran and Iraq. He described current relations between the two countries as good.
During his meeting on Sunday with the director-general for Gulf affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ali Asghar Haji, Ramadan stressed Iraq's responsibility to ensure the safety and security of intellectuals in Iraq. Two Shiite religious men have been killed inside Iraq since April.
The Iranian official delivered Ramadan a message from Iranian first Vice President Hassan Habibi.
No information was disclosed on the content of the message. Work results of the joint committee for prisoners of war and missing persons were reviewed as well as trade relations between the two countries.
