Morocco - Tunisia bilateral cooperation assessed

The Moroccan-Tunisian follow-up commission, stemming from the two countries' high joint commission, is currently meeting here to assess the evolution of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting is debating various aspects of bilateral cooperation and identifying future cooperation fields.
On the fringes of the meeting, Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi conferred on Monday with Tunisia's secretary of state in charge of relations with Arab, Islamic and African countries, Sadouk Fayala.
Fayala told Map news agency after the meeting that his visit to Morocco is part of ongoing preparations for the coming meeting of the Moroccan-Tunisian high commission, due next July 14-16 in Tunis.
The Tunisian official had also conferred with Moroccan Industry, Trade and Handicraft Minister Alami Tazi on means of upgrading bilateral relations.
Both countries are members of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) together with Algeria, Libya and Mauritania.
Bilateral exchange between the two states did not exceed $100 million in 1996, Map reported.
Morocco sells Agricultural produce, medicines to Tunisia and imports tires, aluminium from the Maghreban country.
