Israeli attacks continue against south Lebanon

Lebanese resistance forces on Sunday attacked the Israeli occupation positions in Seida, in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Resistance sources said the Lebanese fighters were able to hit the positions directly.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops shelled a number of towns adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. According to Lebanese security sources, the Israeli shelling targeted the river area of Habboush, the surroundings of Arab Salem, al-Hamra farm, and Arnon village. Phone network in the area was damaged as a result of the Israeli bombardment, the sources said.
On Saturday afternoon, Israeli forces escalated attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon, foremost al-Tuffah and al-Nabatieh districts. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli occupation positions in al-Zafata and Ali al-Taher shelled Tabnet, al-Hamra farm, Anon, the sides of the occupation positions in al-Burj, Ali al-Taher, Arab Saleem, al-Rafei mount, Litani river bed and Habboush river area in al-Tuffah district.
On Saturday afternoon resistance forces detonated charges against an Israeli foot patrol in Ali al-Taher position in the occupied part of south Lebanon.
On Friday night, the Israeli troops, bombarded areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the bombardment targeted the towns of Kabrika, Haddath, Rita al-Jabal, Zouter, East and Zouter West and al-Hajoir valley.
Meanwhile, Israeli jet fighters flew intensively over the central and western sectors, while Israeli troops were carrying out vast mopping-up operations. The Lebanese sources continued that resistance fighters attacked two Israeli occupation positions in the occupied part of the South.
In a statement, the resistance said that its groups attacked Israeli positions in Barachit and Qantara in retaliation for the occupation troops' shelling of the towns of the central and western sectors. The statement noted that direct hits were scored on the two Israeli positions.
Meanwhile, the Israeli radio stated that two Israeli-backed militia men were wounded on Saturday. They were injured by a bomb placed by the resistance near the occupied Tabnet district.
Lebanon, on the other hand, lodged a new complaint against Israel to the April Understanding monitoring committee in protest of the bombardment carried out by the Israeli troops last Thursday. Populated quarters in Barachit town and a number of villages adjacent to the occupied strip of south Lebanon were attacked. The shelling resulted in the demolition of a number of houses and properties.
