Mopping up operations in Algeria

Algerian army forces killed 50 gunmen from the Armed Islamic Group during mopping-up operations carried out last week in the heights of al-Bleida and Jejeil provinces. Meanwhile, Algerian dailies published on Wednesday said that another armed group set fire to 50 hectares of cultivated area in the al-Masyada district of Tebsah province.
