First visit of a Jordanian minister to Kuwaiti since the Gulf war

Jordanian minister of planning Rima Khalaf will head to Kuwait tomorrow according to the call of the manager in the economic development Arab fund Abd El-Hamd to attend the meetings of the fund and sign some agreements between it and Jordan.
The Jordanian newspaper "El-Destour (or the constitution) said yesterday that, according to the instruction of Kuwaiti prince Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, the program of the Jordanian minister will include: a meeting with the first deputy of the Kuwaiti prime minister and foreign minister Sheikh Sabbah al-Ahmad and the Kuwaiti minister of planning Ali al-Mussa.
Sources told the Kuwaiti daily al-Watan that the visit of the Jordanian minister has been amended so as she will meet with the Kuwaiti foreign minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad at the directives of higher Kuwaiti sides. The Jordanian sources added there is "no more what it called Kuwaiti veto towards opening the Jordanian Embassy in Kuwait."
This visit of Rima Khalaf is considered an important step within the continued efforts aimed at improving the relation between Jordan and Kuwait which was severed after the Gulf war due to Jordanian support of Iraq.
This is the first visit of a Jordanian minister to Kuwait since the gulf war in 1990, and a beginning for normalizing the relations, and a preliminary step for the Jordanian embassy to reopen.
Kuwaiti - Jordanian relations have began to view an visible improvement in the recent period especially after the decision of the Kuwaiti prince to release the Jordanian detainees in the Kuwaiti prisons.
