Arab information ministers end session in Algeria

Arab information ministers wrapped up Thursday in Algeria their 31st session with the adoption of a host of recommendations meant to foster inter-Arab media cooperation to counter upcoming globalization challenges and preserve Arab cultural identity.
The ministers decided to set up a high commission to see to the promotion of Arab media production and called for coordination in the use of Arab satellite TV channels.
They also decided to support Palestinian media bodies and called for the launching of Arab information network.
The Arab ministers called further for encouraging Arab co-production of TV programs and stressed the need to work out a code of ethics for information.
