Negotiations between Egypt and Iraq for reconstructing electricity stations

Egyptian - Iraqi relations will be under discussion in fields of industry and electricity during the coming month.

The Iraqi minister of industry and electricity is going to visit Cairo between July 3 and 10 to agree upon importing electrical equipment from Egyptian factories. Moreover there will be a meeting with the Egyptian minister of electricity, Maher Abaza to discuss the role of Egyptian companies in reconstructing Iraqi - Egyptian electric generating stations that were destroyed by allied forces in the Gulf War.

Official sources said the Iraqi minister is paying a visit to factories affiliated to both the private and public sectors to specify Iraqi requirements for electric equipment that will be imported to Baghdad within the oil-for-food program.
