Libyan supports an Arab military bloc

The general secretariat of the people's committee for unity in Libya on Tuesday welcomed the call advocated by Egyptian Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Hussein Tantawi to set up an Arab military bloc to meet challenges impeding the Arab nation and to facilitate technical advancement.
In a statement released on Tuesday the secretariat expressed appreciation for the position of the Egyptian defense minister as far as he realized the responsibilities of the current phase, during which the Arab nation is undergoing fierce onslaughts.
The statement added that the call of the Egyptian minister complies with Egypt's national role and efforts to serve the interests of the Arab nation.
