Lebanese resistance operations escalated against Israeli troops
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 6/24/1998

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday morning attacked two Israeli occupation positions in Beer Klab and Sujoud districts. In a statement, the Lebanese resistance forces said the two positions received direct hits from the fighters who used rockets and machine-gun fire in their attack.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces continued attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israeli heavy artillery bombarded al-Zahrani, river bed, Habboush town woods, Lueizeh, Aqmata plain, Sujoud mountain, al-Tasse spring and al-Rayhan woods. The bombardment was accompanied by mopping up operations carried out by heavy machine-gun fire against the target areas, the sources continued.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew over Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts and carried out mock provocative raids.
