Egypt-Yemen, Judicial, 6/23/1998
Egyptian judicial and security sources said on Monday that the Egyptian authorities arrested two persons suspected of being members in the extremist "al-Jihad al-Islami" organization upon their arrival from Jordan and Yemen this month.
The sources added that the state's security court on Sunday put in custody Abdul Fatah Fahmi on June 1 in Nuweibi port on the Red Sea in the Sinai Peninsula, upon arriving from Jordan with a forged Egyptian passport. It added that the second, Saeed Sayed Salameh, was arrested on June 13 at Cairo Airport upon arriving from Yemen.
The sources noted a suspected relation between Saeed Sayed Salamah and the Islamic Billionaire Osama Bin Laden, who is deprived from his Saudi nationality and who is currently residing, according to press news, in Afghanistan, in areas controlled by Talban movement which have control on two thirds of Afghanistan.
Egyptian security sources said that Salamah is currently under investigation before being presented for prosecution.
