Morocco faces Scotland in all-or-nothing match
Morocco, Sports, 6/23/1998

Morocco plays its last hope in the 1998 World Cup today against Scotland in Saint-Etienne. Only a win can push Morocco through to the second round together with Brazil which tops group A with 6 points from two wins over Scotland (2-1) and Morocco (3-0).

Morocco ranks fourth in the group with 1 point from a 2-2 draw against Norway and the loss against Brazil, while Scotland is ahead of Morocco with the goal difference.

The match is equally decisive for the Scots, who want to win and cruise to the second round for the first time in eight trys for the World Cup.

Several changes are expected to be made in the Moroccan team. Keeper Driss Benzekri will be substituted by Abdelkader Brazi, while Abrami will deputize defender Abdelkarim Hadrioui. Rachid Azzouzi will replace Abdelilah Saber, Map reported.

All Moroccan players see the match against Scotland as their World Cup final and assure that they will do their best to preserve their chances in the competition.

The match will be refereed by Mohamed Abu Jassem of the United Arab Emirates.
