Morocco's ministers council adopts 1998/99 appropriation bill
Morocco, Economics, 6/23/1998
The Moroccan ministers council, presided by King Hassan II, on Monday adopted the 1998/99 appropriation bill, which will be presented to parliament.
The draft budget was adopted last week by the government council.
A dozen other draft decrees related to a delegation of powers of the finance minister, including the issue of active management of Morocco's public debt, were also adopted, Map reported.
Morocco's fiscal year runs from July to June and the appropriation bill is drawn in early summer, to enable the bill drafters take into account the state of the cereals harvest and agriculture in general.
Agriculture represents around 20 percent of the country's GDP and employs nearly half of an estimated 10-million workforce.
