Oman report earnings are down

Oman's exports earnings in the first quarter of 1998 fell 29% compared with the corresponding period last year. The decline has been attributed to the sharp drop in oil and non-oil exports.
Statistics released by the Ministry of National Economy show that oil exports totaled Ro 376.1 million during the January - March period of this year against earnings of Ro 611.5 million last year, entailing a drop of 38.5% Non-oil exports also fell in value by 1.4%, from Ro 48.9 million in the first quarter of to Ro 48.2 million during the corresponding period this year.
