Jordan, Morocco share same viewpoints on Middle East, says Jordanian prime minister
Jordan-Morocco, Politics, 6/22/1998
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdel Salam Majali, who visited Morocco last week, stressed "the convergence" of political viewpoints between Morocco and Jordan on major issues related to the Middle East.
In an interview with socialist daily al-Ittihad al-Ishtiraki, the Jordanian official said this convergence of viewpoints testifies to a better future in bilateral and inter-arab relations.
The daily recalls that the two countries renewed following Majali's visit this June 14-17 adherence to the Middle East peace process in conformity with the Madrid conference principles and commitments made by the parties to the process, Map reported.
The Jordanian prime minister also noted the excellent relations between the two countries and recalled the package of agreements with Morocco and the creation of a joint commission to promote economic and cultural bonds.
He also said he hoped that the level of trade, which does not presently exceed $10 million, will be increased.
