A message from Gaddafi to Mubarak
Libya-Egypt-Nambia, Politics, 6/22/1998

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday received the secretary of the people's unity committee in Libya, Juma al-Fazani, who delivered a message from Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi relating to bilateral relations and joint Arab action.

In a statement to reporters following the meeting, the Libyan envoy said that talks dealt with developments in the Lockerbie crisis in light of sanctions imposed on Libya after recent African Unity Organization warning that it will suspend its adherence to sanctions imposed on Libya should the International Court of Justice decide where to try the two Libyans suspected to have been involved in the bombing of a US plane in 1988 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

Meanwhile, Gaddafi on Sunday received a message from President of Namibia Sam Nujoma on the possibility of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries for the interests of the Libyan and Namibian peoples.

Njouma praised the coalition maintained between the African coastal and desert countries in fostering unity among the African people. He underlined the importance of setting up regional African groups to come up against racist and hostile forces aimed at partitioning the black continent.
