Israel continues shelling against south Lebanon

Lebanese security forces said that Israeli artillery Yesterday and Thursday bombarded the outskirts of East Zouter, West Zouter, al-Ghandourieh, Farroun, Kafra, Yater, the residential areas in Barachit town, al-Litani river bed and al-Assi road.
The bombardment coincided with intensive flying of Israeli reconnaissance flights at low altitudes over the central and western sectors. Meanwhile, a South Lebanon Army patrol on Thursday morning carried out mopping-up operations in Meimas valley in the western Bekaa.
Lebanese security sources said militia elements positioned in Tallat Kawkaba also carried out a vast mopping up operation with heavy artillery in the hills of al-Zahar mountain and at Meimas crossing, which resulted in fires in the woods.
On Thursday before noon the Israeli occupation forces bombarded with heavy artillery Farroun and Kabreiha towns' surroundings and al-Hajir and al-Salwqi valleys in south Lebanon. Reports from south Lebanon said enemy artillery bombardment was accompanied by mopping-up operations on the target area from the occupation positions in al-Qantara and al-Salaa in the occupied part of south Lebanon.
Meanwhile, a Lebanese national group on Thursday morning attacked Israeli and South Lebanon Army militia forces inside al-Salaa position in the occupied part of south Lebanon. In a statement, the resistance said direct hits were scored. The resistance also attacked the Israeli occupation position at Barachit hill with rockets and machine-guns, and a resistance statement said direct hits were also scored.
The Israeli occupation forces, meanwhile, expelled Lebanese citizen Huda Hamadeh from occupied Maroun al-Ras town to outside the occupied part of south Lebanon. Reports from South Lebanon said that occupation troops expelled the Lebanese citizen through Beit Yahoun crossing after she had been detained at Khiam camp.
