Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid will travel on June 28 to Damascus where he will hold talks with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.

These talks are concerned with rectifying the Arab atmospheres, the situation in the Middle East, and the Arab alternatives for responding to the Israeli government's policies within the various Arab points of view.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa is heading to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, within Egyptian - Saudi coordination for convening the Arab summit. He will carry a message to King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat El-Sherif will travel on the same day, Wednesday, to Algeria, carrying a message from President Mubarak to Algerian President Liamine Zeroual. An Egyptian source said, "The message explains the steps that were achieved in order to convene the Arab summit, the obstacles facing it, the reasons for calling for its convening and methods of helping it succeed."

Diplomatic sources said that there is a movement to convene an urgent meeting of Arab foreign ministers at Arab League headquarters to talk about convening an Arab summit and that it is an attempt to gain the Arab states' approval of convening a major and comprehensive Arab summit in which Iraq can participate.
