Trial for Qataris accused of planning explosions to resume
Qatar, Judicial, 6/20/1998

The high criminal court in Doha decided to hear the cases of public prosecution and lawyers on June 30 in a case in which explosives were uncovered by Qatari security forces in a parking place in front of the Doha Immigration Office, affiliated to the Ministry of Interior.

Six Qataris and an Omani fugitive will be tried for the incident.

The court appointed lawyer Ali Rached El-Nasf to defend suspect Saiid Sief El-Asiri instead of his previous lawyer, Abd El-Rahman Abdul-Maogod, who refused to continue to defend his client.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor rejected a call by Abd El-Allah El-Khalifi, the lawyer for two of the defendants, to release his clients on bail or guarantee.
