Sheikh Yassin to leave Khartoum for Cairo on Monday
Palestine-Egypt, Politics, 6/20/1998

Jamal Eissa, the head of Hamas' bureau in Sudan, announced in a press statement yesterday that the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum informed Sheikh Yassin, the founder of Hamas movement, about Cairo's approval of his visit in the middle of the coming week.

Eissa said that the Egyptian console in Khartoum told him about the decision, and he expressed Egypt's readiness for the arrival of Sheikh Yassin in Egypt on Monday.

Eissa added that Sheikh Yassin and his companions will leave Khartoum on Sunday night after which Sheikh Yassin intends to spend several days in Egypt, during which he will receive medical checkups before leaving for the passage at Rafah to Gaza.

Sheikh Yassin was in Khartoum for three weeks, including one for political work, after which he remained for another two weeks while waiting for Cairo's to allow him to travel to Egypt.
